Have you ever fancied being a superhero? Well now, thanks to Breast Cancer Research Trust, you can, and all it'll take is buying one of their designer t-shirts from Glassons.
The Trust asked six of the country's favourite designers (Karen Walker, Trelise Cooper, Zambesi, Cybéle, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Lonely Hearts) to put their unique take on their annual t-shirt collection around the theme of 'superheroes'.
With tees costing $29.99, and $10 from each sale going to the Trust, not only will you look trés chic and add a designer piece to your wardrobe for an affordable price, but you'll also be supporting a worthy cause and helping to save lives from breast cancer making you an instant superhero!
The campaign has been supported by a raft of male and female celebrities alike, including professional triathlete Terenzo Bozzone who explained why he got involved in the campaign. "At the end of the day we are all affected by breast cancer. Guys and girls alike. Us guys have mums, girlfriends and friends and it is important to support them and stand by them," he said.
New Zealand has one of the world's highest rates of incidence and death from breast cancer, with one in eight New Zealand women diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and 660 (that's nearly two per day) losing their life to the disease every year.
"The next few years are more important than ever for people to get involved and buy a t-shirt,” says Glassons general manager Di Humphries, "so we can help bring Breast Cancer Research Trust's goal to reality and make breast cancer a survivable disease within the next eight years.
"We are expecting a great response from this year's exceptional t-shirt designs. The t-shirts continue to have a strong following amongst customers, many of whom have become collectors over the years the campaign has been running."
