Demi Moore has been branded a "plastic-skinned robot" after appearing heavily Photoshopped in a new perfume advertisement.

In the new photographs for the Helena Rubinstein campaign, Demi's skin appears polished and wrinkle-free, the Daily Mail reports.

The 47-year-old's neck and armpit appear to have been smoothed out while her bust has been enhanced.

The New York Magazine claims Moore's sternum has also disappeared and that her hair appears "smoother and more voluminous".

Demi's husband Ashton Kutcher released a behind-the-scenes photograph from the shoot on Twitter last March, showing Moore in an almost identical pose without the digital overhaul.

Blogs have slammed the perfume company for their "enthusiastic use" of Photoshop, saying the Hollywood starlet now looks like a "plastic-skinned robot".

"It’s a telling set of edits because it shows that when the cosmetics industry is presented with one of the world’s most attractive women it concludes she needs improvement," the Australian bNet blog said.

Demi was forced to deny she was Photoshopped for the cover of US magazine W last year, after a chunk of her hip appeared to be missing.

The same photograph ran on the cover of the Korean W magazine in January, that time with a fuller hip.

A spokesperson for W said the magazine "did not do anything unusual or out of the ordinary" to the photo, Jezebel.com reported.

"Demi is an extraordinary beautiful woman and we feel our cover reflects that," the spokesperson was quoted as saying.

She looks so much better in the twitter pic. Less photoshopping next time please perfume companies - or even better, no photoshopping!
