Who knew that the Duchess of Cambridge's fashion godfather was none other than Prince Charles?
It has been revealed that the duchess's father-in-law has been footing the bill for Kate's outfits under his "household" budget funded by the Duchy of Cornwall.
In the next few days Prince Charles will be releasing the figures of what he has spent on Kate and it is estimated to be as much as £35,000 (over $68,000) since the royal wedding. To put it in perspective, her husband Prince William earns a £44,000 salary as an RAF pilot.
The duchess has a knack for recycling her wardrobe and mixing in high street pieces but she is also developing a serious penchant for designer pieces including Jenny Packham, Matthew Williamson and Alexander McQueen, which she also wore to her wedding so these calculations sound spot on to us.
Royal rules dictate that all of Kate's clothes must be purchased (no freebies), but we can't imagine the duchess wouldn't qualify for a royal designer discount.
