Joshua Jackson (who will forever be Pacey from Dawson's Creek to us) has hit back at rumours that he had finally proposed to long-time girlfriend Diane Kruger, revealing the couple have no interest in tying the knot.
'Are Joshua and Diane engaged?' headlines were popping up all over the place last week after the 33-year-old Fringe star purchased a $45,000 Carla Amorim necklace for his lady-love and reportedly told a journalist it was "the perfect engagement gift".
Joshua's rep denied such a comment was made and now Jackson has shared his views on marriage with Life & Style magazine.
"Neither of us is religious and the picket fence isn't what we're aiming at," Joshua said.
"We're together for six years now, so for all intents and purposes, we are [married]" he added. "I have no need for a priest to tell me that!"
Kruger shares her partner's views, telling US Glamour magazine last year that she has no desire to marry again (she divorced husband of five years French actor Guillaume Canet in 2006).
"Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don't believe in marriage," she explained.
"I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There's no paper that will make you stay."
