Move over willowy Miss World there's a new girl with more than generous proportions on the block.
Italy has selected Angela Scognamiglio, who tips the scales at a hefty 170kg, as its latest beauty queen.
The 33-year-old beat 30 other hopeful contestants to be crowned Miss Chubby.
She said she felt "very moved, I feel as if I've won the lottery," AFP reports.
To enter the pageant contestants must weigh at least 100kg.
Like in other pageants, the fuller-figured females must parade before an audience wearing evening gowns, or for those more daring, skimpy undergarments.
However the highlight of the night for the women was the weigh-in the ladies must step onto a huge red scale which displays their weight to everyone.
Generally the biggest beauty clinches the title.
Of course, the only way to celebrate is with a gigantic cake.
The contest is a way to boost the bounteous beauties' self-esteem in contrast to the mockery they face on a daily basis.
Contestant Marilena Amato told reporters she and her fellow full-figured friends faced discrimination in public.
"When we get on a bus, people nudge each other, and whisper, making fun of us, and it's the same on the beach," she said.
The contest's founder, Gianfranco Lazzereschi, said the event showcased other types of beauty in women and was a way to send a different message about beauty.
